Purpose:

The Vietnam Red Cross Society organized the workshop to review the 5-year implementation of the Mangrove Plantation – Disaster Risk Reduction project on 15 and 16 Dec 2015. Over 5 years, 108 ha of mangroves were planted and another 9,000 protected in 205 communes of 10 provinces, contributing significantly to climate change adaptation, awareness raising as well as providing livelihood support. The project was supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies with funding from the Japanese Red Cross Society.
