Purpose:

This seven-year Strategic Plan of the Cambodian Red Cross for the period 2003 – 2010 describes how the Society aims to support vulnerable people in the country. It also outlines how the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) can contribute to the poverty reduction of the vulnerable people in Cambodia by becoming a leading humanitarian organisation. The objectives and actions detailed in this strategy have been designed to help the CRC move in the same strategic direction as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as a whole. A direction in which, ‘programmes are responsive to local vulnerability and focused on the areas where they can have greatest impact’. And with a collective focus on ‘promoting the Movement’s Fundamental Principles and humanitarian values, disaster response, disaster preparedness, and health and care in the community’.

Overview: The strategic policy outlines the challenges, vision and mission, strategic directions, addressing cross-cutting issues, and monitoring and evaluation.

Usage: Policy development

Audience: National Society leadership, Technical staff, Communication staff
